Sensitive Topic

I apologize in advance for the sensitive topic I will discuss about in this blog. There is no intention in hurting anyone when I discuss about this topic.

With people getting bigger, and still continuing this unhealthy habit, have you ever thought what happens when the continued stops? I doubt many of us do, and neither have I. The way I came up with this topic by simply google-ing. Here, I am going to discuss about the Goliath Casket. According to Google Finance, The Goliath Casket is privately owned, founded in the 1980's in Lynn, Indiana. There business now grows 20% percent each year, because of the large quantity of obese people in America. The casket is 4 feet wide and 8 feet long, (described by Google Finance: bigger than most king size beds, and taller than most humans).

I understand caskets are not like a one size fits all, because we are all made in different shapes and sizes, but the Goliath Casket is specifically made for obese people. Like Americans let it go this far?  Businesses have to accommodate their products to benefit our needs? Evolution is not working to our benefit if we keep the unhealthy habits. Just like our ancestors 220,000,000 years ago, we are meant to roam, be active! -(or at least somewhat that will maintain a healthy lifestyle). People are guessing that 1/2 of men and women will be obese in 2030.
We are all made of different shapes and sizes, and genetics has a big part of it... but so does life style. There should not be a 20% in the Goliath Casket company if people change their life styles. Businesses should not have to accommodate, because of our unhealthy life choices, instead we should change it.

I once again apologize if this is touchy subject, but the Goliath Casket size is ridiculous. It is our fault for letting it go this far (living a very unhealthy life style.)

Sodas In America

Have you noticed the new size of the soda cans at a typical Lucky’s or Safeway or at any grocery market? The size of the soda can has changed. The soda is now contained in the new 7.5 ounces of 90-calorie can. The reason why? So Americans can have more self-control to manage their calories, to emphasize that people need to live a healthy lifestyle. The soda companies, such as Coca-Cola believe this will reduce obesity in 2015 and by approaching the situation this way, it helps people to realize that drinking soda should be moderate, (that’s why they made the cans into 7.5 ounces, which is apparently moderate size).
My opinion: Really? You believe making sodas in small 7.5 ounces, bullet cans will have people drink less soda? If people want more soda, they will drink more soda. Because people have no self-control and no self-discipline, Coca-Cola decides to practically “ruin” it for everyone by instead of having regular twelve-ounce sodas, to 7.5 ounces. I think to myself, no one told you to drink so much soda, people should know when enough is enough, or restrict themselves in general if people cannot handle it.
Not only that, by having moderate sizes available, as a smart consumer, we would like a bargain. For specifically 7.5-ounce soda eight pack, costs around five dollars plus tax. A regular twelve pack of soda, twelve ounces, cost around five dollars plus tax as well. So as a smart consumer which on is better for your buck? OBVIOUSLY the twelve pack.
My next question is, has it gone that bad that Americans got so fat that companies have to help us control our own self-control? Sadly, the answer is yes in this case.
